The Main Street Scholarship

It all starts on Main Street. This is Capital’s foundational award for all admitted, full-time students and provides a minimum of $20,000 per year just by applying. The best part? It’s renewable for up to eight semesters, giving you a strong financial start as you continue your college journey. Use the table below to see your total award amount based on your cumulative GPA.

Stackable Awards

You might qualify for additional scholarships that can be stacked on top of the Main Street Scholarship to maximize your aid package. Comet Community Award

Want to live on campus? This $1,500/year award helps cover housing costs, making it easier for you to experience the full college life. It’s renewable annually, so you can keep it for as long as you stay in campus housing.

Capital Preferred Pathway Award

Designed for Columbus State Community College students with a 3.0+ GPA. If you’re an Ohio resident, Pell Grant eligible, and file the FAFSA, this award can significantly reduce your tuition, paving a smoother path to your Capital degree.

Additional Awards

ROTC Up to full tuition w/ room and board. (Cannot be combined with the Comet Community Award.) Based on merit, leadership potential, and physical aptitude.
Conservatory Performance Award Up to $5,000 applied to tuition/yr. Audition-based award for full-time Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Arts in Music majors.
Music Composition Scholarship Up to $3,500 applied to tuition/yr. For composition majors in the Conservatory of Music. Evaluation of composition portfolio is required.
Sibling Award $1,000 tuition award/yr. Sibling must be an enrolled, full-time undergraduate student at Capital.
Lutheran Heritage Grant $1,000 tuition award/yr. Child of Lutheran pastor, or identify as a member of a Lutheran Congregational Church.
Partners in Education Match up to $500 tuition award/yr. Your congregation has its own criteria and award amount. Capital University matches funds up to $500 contributed by Lutheran Congregations.

How to Apply for Scholarships

Applying for scholarships at Capital University as a transfer student is easy! Scholarships and other aid, including the Main Street Scholarship, don’t require a separate application.  When you apply for admission, you'll be considered for these scholarships based on your college academic achievements. To maximize your financial aid, be sure to complete the FAFSA to access additional need-based aid. This simple process ensures you’re considered for all available opportunities to support your education.
