  • If you have fewer than 30 semester college credit hours, we’ll also use your high school information in making admission decisions.

Unique Requirements for Transfer Students in Select Majors

If you plan to major in music or nursing, you will need to meet additional requirements as part of your application process:

  • Music — in most cases, music students must also complete an audition
  • Nursing — nursing students are considered on a space-available basis but must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average and a 2.75 cumulative science grade point average.

We also offer ways for you to earn college credit for knowledge gained outside traditional college education settings. Your life experience and any non-collegiate coursework you have taken in your career may translate it into credit toward graduation. Your counselor can answer questions about transferring credit, available majors, the application process and any financial aid you qualify for.

Transferring College Credit

As a transfer student, you bring knowledge gained from previous college experience. That time in school and the courses you completed (and paid for) may translate into credit you can apply toward your degree at Capital. As a prospective student, you’ll be assigned a transfer admission counselor to help you determine how much credit you have and where it will be applied.
